How do I manage diaper rash?

Diaper rash is common but manageable. To help treat and prevent diaper rash:

  1. Frequent Diaper Changes: Change your baby’s diaper promptly when wet or soiled to minimize moisture exposure.
  2. Clean and Dry: Gently clean the diaper area with warm water and a soft cloth. Pat the skin dry rather than rubbing.
  3. Barrier Cream: Apply a barrier cream or ointment containing zinc oxide to protect the skin during diaper changes.
  4. Air Time: Allow your baby to spend some time without a diaper each day to let the skin breathe.
  5. Monitor for Infection: If the rash persists or is accompanied by blisters, pus, or fever, consult a pediatrician.
